About Francisco
I'm Francisco Ocasio, a writer and poet. I write picture books, poetry, and stories with rhythm, humor, and heart. My picture books take a child's feelings seriously: the anger, the confusion, the weight of a lie, the frustration of hearing “no.” For adults, I write poems about letting go and finding steadier ground, and I'm at work on Las Bodegas Sold Dreams, a story about Alianza Islámica, the Puerto Rican Muslim community that built a home where people were told to choose between their faith and their roots, and about what disappears when the ones who lived it are gone.
